This was an attempt for HDR but I hated the unreal colors. So I edited the HDR to be close to the real image. Shot several different exposures at 24mm, f4, ISO 500, Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM. I am still not pleased with the image, but I am not sure what exactly I want to change. Any constructive criticism is most welcome. 9 comments:
It looks like a lot of work. Would you mind sharing some of the method?" Ian Francisco said "I like HDR images that are as close to reality as possible - only adjusting some tonality to the shadows. I think you already did a great job here! The texture of the wooden cabinet and the couch are adequately perceivable. A little more and it will look like a Harry Potter movie. A lot of people get crazy with the sliders of their HDR programs and it's easy to do ghastly adjustments to their images. It's good that some of the dark areas and shadows on the front of the table and the couch remain. Congrats on your venture into HDR! You are doing a great job in my opinion!" I prefer HDR to look real too even though others urge me to use the 'grunge' look. This image has very nice light and rich color. I found you through istock and your images of the prison. I have something similar I want to put on a different microstock site and wondered if you needed a property release for yours. Please let me know. Thanks" Macro photography said "This is a beautiful room. I love this period look.
